Once fully operational, Long Thanh International Airport will reduce the load on Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City as it is expected to handle 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of freight each year.
Alongside newly launched works, projects still in the investment preparation phase must also be expedited to contribute to the government’s target of achieving 8.3 to 8.5 per cent economic growth in 2025 and laying the groundwork for double-digit growth in the following years.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to remove institutional barriers and cut unnecessary administrative procedures for both citizens and businesses.
He also tasked relevant agencies with ensuring the completion and operation of 3,000 kilometres of expressways and about 1,700 kilometres of coastal roads in 2025.
In addition, the government is pushing forward with preparatory work and groundbreaking for several new road projects, including the Vinh–Thanh Thuy, Cam Lo–Lao Bao, Quang Ngai–Kon Tum and Bac Kan–Cao Bang expressways, as well as road links such as the Gia Binh Airport connector, Quy Nhon–Pleiku, the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City–Trung Luong–My Thuan expressway, and the Ho Chi Minh City–Moc Bai and Tan Phu–Bao Loc routes.
