Dong Nai: Shopping demand rises 20-50% in first two days of National holiday

During the first two days of the National Day (September 2) holiday, shopping malls and supermarkets in Dong Nai attracted large crowds of shoppers.

According to several supermarkets and shopping centers, consumer demand increased by 20 to 50 percent compared to regular weekends.

Nguyen Ky Hiep, director of MM Mega Market Bien Hoa in Tran Bien Ward, said customer traffic over the past weekend rose by 20 to 30 percent compared to typical weekends. On average, the supermarket welcomed more than 3,000 shoppers each day.

On this occasion, the supermarket ramped up promotional campaigns to boost consumer spending, with a focus on Vietnamese products, agricultural goods, local specialties, essential items, and household goods. Many products were offered at discounts of up to 50 percent, along with “buy one, get one free” deals.

Similarly, Nguyen Quoc Minh, director of Co.opmart Dong Phu in Dong Phu Commune, said that for this year’s National Day holiday, the supermarket launched a consumer stimulus program called “Proud Vietnamese Supermarket,” offering major discounts on a wide range of Vietnamese products. The store also placed strong emphasis on decorations and elaborate product displays to attract consumers for shopping, sightseeing, and check-ins during the holiday. Over the past weekend, customer traffic at the supermarket rose by 30 to 50 percent compared to regular weekends.
