Assessment of entity developing trademark for Vinh Cuu and Tan Phu green-skinned pomelo products

On September 25, the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology convened a council to select organizations and individuals to carry out the 2024 provincial-level tasks under the Intellectual Property Development Program through 2030. These tasks focus on the establishment, management, and development of the certification trademarks “Green-Skinned Pomelo Vinh Cuu – Dong Nai” and “Green-Skinned Pomelo Tan Phu – Dong Nai” for the respective green-skinned pomelo products in the province (hereinafter referred to as the Council).

At the session, Master of Science (MSc) Nguyen Thuy Hoang My of the Center for Technology and Intellectual Property Research (CIPTEK), representing the implementing unit, stated that the objective of the task is to successfully register the certification trademarks “Green-Skinned Pomelo Vinh Cuu – Dong Nai” and “Green-Skinned Pomelo Tan Phu – Dong Nai” in Vietnam. The task also aims to establish an effective management model, along with a complete system of documents and templates for administering and using the aforementioned certification trademarks.

In addition, the task includes establishing the necessary means and conditions for the exploitation and development of the certification trademarks “Green-Skinned Pomelo Vinh Cuu – Dong Nai” and “Green-Skinned Pomelo Tan Phu – Dong Nai,” as well as organizing a pilot program to grant trademark usage rights to organizations and individuals who meet the eligibility requirements for using these certification trademarks.

Following the presentation and discussion, the council voted to approve the selected task dossier for implementation. At the same time, the council requested that the lead agency and task leader seriously consider the feedback received, revise, and finalize the task proposal dossier for submission to the Department of Science and Technology as the basis for carrying out the next steps in accordance with regulations.
