According to the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, during the first half of 2025 and the initial period following the administrative merger, Dong Nai has implemented a comprehensive range of measures to mobilize resources and accelerate the progress of key projects and infrastructure works, to promote development and enhance inter-regional connectivity. Notably, the province has completed 100% of compensation and site clearance for the Long Thanh International Airport project, as well as for its connecting roads T1 and T2, and has handed over the cleared land to the investor for construction to begin.
For the Ring Road No. 3 - Ho Chi Minh City project, site clearance has been fully completed and handed over to the construction units. It is expected that Component Project 3 will be opened to technical traffic before December 19, 2025. Regarding the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, site clearance has been carried out, and contractors are currently focusing on construction, striving to achieve technical traffic opening of Component Project 1 by December 19, 2025. In addition, the province is coordinating with relevant localities and agencies to complete procedures for the groundbreaking of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh and Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressways, scheduled for August 19. Regarding the Ma Da Bridge and its connecting road project, Dong Nai Province has added it to the provincial planning and is currently preparing the pre-feasibility study report. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for August 19, in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025). In total, the province plans to commence or inaugurate eight major projects during this occasion, with a total investment of approximately 50 trillion VND.
The cultural and social sectors continue to receive attention and be actively strengthened. National defense, security, border control, and social order and safety remain firmly safeguarded, creating a stable environment for development.

However, several initial challenges have emerged following the administrative merger and the implementation of the two-tier local government system in the newly formed province. These include the incomplete arrangement of office facilities, staffing, and equipment in certain communes and wards; administrative procedures that are not yet fully digitized, requiring manual processing; and the lack of complete legal documentation, which has caused difficulties in the disbursement of public investment capital. Additionally, the administrative data storage and synchronization system - particularly between the two former provinces - remains incomplete, negatively influencing the efficiency and timeliness of administrative processes.
In the coming time, the province will focus on addressing these existing shortcomings while accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital, with priority given to key and strategic transportation projects. At the same time, Dong Nai will continue to implement comprehensive tasks and solutions to stimulate economic growth, such as boosting domestic consumption, promoting trade, attracting tourism, increasing exports, and striving to exceed the state budget revenue target.
The province will also focus on finalizing adjustments to the Dong Nai Provincial Master Plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, to meet the development requirements of the new phase. At the same time, four major urban planning projects will be completed and submitted for approval, serving as key drivers of socio-economic development.
