According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, after the mergence, the new Dong Nai province has 63 industrial clusters. Of these, 44 clusters planned for the 2013-2020 period continue to be planned for the 2021-2030 period, and the 19 new clusters are added to the 2021-2030 plan.
Up to date, 20 industrial clusters have had their environmental impact assessment reports approved. Of these, 10 clusters have completed the construction of wastewater treatment systems, 1 cluster has started operation but only 1 enterprise is generating mainly domestic wastewater, so a concentrated wastewater treatment system has not been built yet, and the remaining 9 clusters have not yet implemented technical infrastructure investment.
The planning of many industrial clusters will help the province build production centers in many areas, thereby contributing to increasing budget revenue and creating added value for the economy. Small and medium-sized enterprises will have access to production premises at reasonable costs, promoting the development of supporting industries; creating jobs and stabilizing the lives of local people; contributing to urbanization, infrastructure development, transportation, and services in suburban and rural areas; and at the same time reducing pressure on large industrial parks.
In addition, industrial clusters also help better control land use planning, construction, technical infrastructure, and environmental treatment, avoiding spontaneous, fragmented industrial development that causes pollution.
