(ĐN)- In a bid to meet stricter global standards and secure a place in international supply networks, Vietnamese enterprises are embracing technology upgrades and sustainable practices. From manufacturing to agriculture, green transformation is no longer a trend, it’s a strategic pivot.

Bien Hoa city-based Huynh Duc Manufacturing and Trading Co. makes significant investments in modern machinery to enhance its production capabilities.

Technology adoption boosts productivity and quality

VinaStar, a mid-sized technical plastics firm in Bien Hoa, has leveraged digital transformation to modernize operations. With support from a Ministry of Industry and Trade program, the company has implemented systems for order tracking, production planning, digital signatures, and equipment management. Full deployment is expected by early 2025, aiming for optimal cost control and improved efficiency.

Huynh Duc, a manufacturing and services company, has also poured capital into modern machinery, building two advanced facilities in Dong Nai and Da Nang. These upgrades have enabled the firm to expand its client base from Japanese manufacturers to U.S. and European investors, with 10% of revenue now coming from direct exports. Exposure to global supply chain standards is helping Vietnamese firms raise their operational benchmarks.

Sustainability integrated into operations

Steel structures company GSB, based in Thanh Phu Industrial Park, has incorporated solar-powered air-conditioning systems into its workshops and forged a strategic partnership with an Australian firm to design energy-efficient factories. This aligns with the broader trend of low-carbon, green industrial development.

GC Food, a Dong Nai-based agribusiness with farms and processing plants across southern Vietnam, has made sustainability part of its export credentials. The firm applies measurable decarbonization efforts, including rooftop solar power, electric forklifts, expanded green areas at plants, and reduced fossil fuel use. These initiatives are now required by many European partners.

Proactive provincial support for innovation

Dong Nai has been actively supporting businesses under the national program to raise productivity and quality through science, technology, and innovation. According to the local Department of Science and Technology, upcoming efforts will include expanded technical training and the development of green economy specialists. SMEDEC 2, a public consultancy unit, is also providing tailored solutions for local enterprises pursuing sustainable growth.

As global supply chains grow greener, Vietnamese firms are stepping up—not only to stay competitive but to lead in responsible production. The path is clear: innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand.
