(ĐN) – With the two-tier local government now in place, newly formed communes in the former Dinh Quan district are actively pursuing key development tasks aimed at preserving and advancing their progress in building advanced and exemplary new-style rural areas.

These efforts focus on sustainable rural transformation, expanding high-tech agricultural production, promoting clean and green residential models, and continually raising incomes for residents.

Prioritizing hi-tech agriculture

Phu Vinh commune was established through the merger of the former Phu Vinh and Phu Tan communes, both of which had already achieved exemplary new rural status. This foundation has enabled the new commune to further leverage local strengths to meet enhanced criteria under the upgraded new-style rural development program.

According to Secretary Dao Van Tuan of the Phu Vinh communal Party Committee, one of the commune’s immediate priorities was to stabilize its new administrative structure and accelerate socio-economic development. These include effective governance, improved public services, and better livelihoods for residents.

“The commune encourages efficient production and business models, particularly in high-tech agriculture, cottage industries, and services to generate jobs and raise household incomes as we continue pursuing exemplary rural standards,” Tuan emphasized.

Local resident Huynh Thanh Son from Suoi Soong 2 hamlet expressed hope that the new local government would bring renewed momentum to rural transformation. “We’re looking forward to upgraded rural infrastructure and services that enhance living standards,” he said.

Meanwhile, Phu Hoa commune was formed by merging the former Phu Hoa and Phu Loi communes of Dinh Quan with Phu Dien commune of the former Tan Phu district. All three were recognized for their achievements in model rural development and hi-tech agriculture.

Farmer Nguyen Van Hanh of Phu Hoa shared that he is participating in a VietGAP-compliant durian farming cooperative to increase product value and develop stable market access. “This approach not only ensures better pricing but also improves our income,” he noted.

Enhancing quality of life

Following the administrative merger, Dinh Quan commune quickly stabilized its organizational structure and focused on service delivery for both residents and businesses. Key leadership roles were filled, tasks were clearly assigned, and regular coordination meetings ensured prompt response to emerging issues.

The commune has streamlined its internal regulations and administrative procedures, with an emphasis on transparency, efficiency and public accessibility. Digital technologies are being adopted to improve workflow and reduce processing time for administrative tasks.

To ensure the continuity of rural development post-merger, localities across the former Dinh Quan district, including the new Dinh Quan commune, are committed to maintaining and enhancing previously achieved standards. These efforts are being tailored to fit the new administrative structure while meeting evolving development goals.

Resident Tran Bich Thuy from Hiep Luc hamlet expressed optimism: “I believe infrastructure and public services will improve further. Cleaner surroundings and more engaged local officials will help elevate our living standards.”

The overarching goal is to make new rural development a constant, dynamic process. Achieving this requires a unified effort from local authorities, government agencies, social organizations, and most importantly, the people themselves. Maintaining and improving rural development standards in newly formed communes is not only vital for quality of life but also serves as a metric for assessing the effectiveness of local governance post-merger.

Secretary Tran Nam Bien of Phu Hoa communal Party Committee emphasized that local authorities are fostering leadership accountability, internal unity, and grassroots engagement. “We’re building a leaner, effective, and people-centric government,” he said. “Transparency, innovation, and adaptability will be our guiding principles as we move forward.”
