(ĐN)- After the COVID-19 pandemic, processed agricultural exports have faced growing challenges, prompting many exporters to shift their focus back to the domestic market. For these businesses, the “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) program has become an important tool to build brands and consumer trust at home.

Faced with soaring raw material prices, rising logistics costs, and unstable export demand, many companies are now investing in the domestic market with high-quality processed products. Nga Bien Import-Export Co., based in Xuan Loc District, previously exported semi-processed cashew kernels but has now pivoted to producing over 20 value-added cashew products, including roasted and flavored varieties, for local consumption.

Dong Nai has actively supported OCOP producers through trade fairs, marketing campaigns, and access to e-commerce platforms. Local governments have also promoted regional specialties and helped connect producers to broader markets.

Similarly, Giang Hoang Yen Co. in Dinh Quan District is expanding its product lines of processed bird’s nest to better serve the growing domestic demand. Meanwhile, Toan Thang Trading Co. in Cam My District has developed frozen durian products that are available year-round and recently earned a 4-star OCOP rating, reinforcing trust among Vietnamese consumers.

Many exporters previously worked under private labels or did not brand their products at all. By participating in OCOP, they are now building stronger brand identity, elevating local produce, and creating new pathways for long-term growth in both domestic and international markets.
