(ĐN) - On July 29, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc chaired a meeting with leaders of departments and agencies to review land use needs to meet the province's development requirements after the province’s merger and to serve the adjustment of the national land use plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050.
The meeting was connected online with 95 wards and communes.

According to the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Environment, to serve the adjustment of the national land use plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has requested localities to review and update the demand for agricultural and non-agricultural land. Based on that, the department is reviewing and synthesizing data to report to the Provincial People's Committee to propose land use indicators to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in order to determine the indicators and allocate them to each commune-level administrative unit, ensuring the socio-economic development requirements of the locality.
By reviewing and synthesizing the land use needs of Dong Nai province and Binh Phuoc province before the merger, Dong Nai province proposed a residential land indicator of nearly 48,800 hectares, an increase of over 4,200 hectares; industrial park land of about 39.400 hectares, an increase of nearly 2,900 hectares; concentrated information technology park land of 118 hectares, an increase of 18 hectares; commercial and service land of nearly 13,200 hectares, an increase of nearly 4,500hectares; and transport land of 64,000 hectares, an increase of nearly 6,300 hectares.
In addition, Dong Nai province proposed reducing 78,600 hectares of mineral exploitation land, about 15,000 hectares of energy land, over 3,200 hectares of rice cultivation land, and over 5,000 hectares of forestry land. For production forest land, the province proposed an increase from 98,100 hectares to 107,600 hectares.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc stated that land use planning is an important legal basis for implementing projects and works. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the policy of proposing to reduce agricultural land to supplement non-agricultural land; agreed with the proposal to use Long Thanh International Airport as a development driver to build high-quality service urban areas, international trade, logistics centers, warehouses, and high-tech industries, etc.

Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to absorb the opinions at the meeting, complete the draft report of the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for consideration and adjustment of Dong Nai province's land use indicators until 2030 before July 31, 2025.
He also assigned departments, agencies, and localities to send consolidated reports on land use needs to the Department of Agriculture and Environment before July 30, 2025. In case a department, agency, or locality does not agree with the proposal of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, they must clearly state the reasons, causes, and legal basis.
The Provincial Police needs to urgently coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to agree on the location and scale of the two projects: Data Industrial Park and Logistics Center under the ministry. In case there is a change in security land use indicators, promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee before July 30, 2025.
For the concentrated information technology park project and the missile battery area of Military Division 367, the Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Military Command are assigned to urgently coordinate with relevant agencies, agree on the implementation plan according to the opinion of the Ministry of National Defense, and report to the competent authorities for direction and handling. In case the agreed plan changes national defense land use indicators, the Provincial Military Command is assigned to promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee before July 30, 2025.
