(ĐN)- Although Dong Nai is an industrial province with rapid urbanization, it promotes new-style rural development. The province aims to build modern rural areas with synchronized socio-economic infrastructure and higher living standards of local people. Notably, creating a green, clean and safe environment is a focus in localities.

Dong Nai currently maintains a green coverage rate of 52%, with forest coverage exceeding 28.9%, surpassing targets set by the provincial Party Committee. It leads the Southeast region in tree planting and ranks among the top provinces nationwide in implementing the Prime Minister’s “One Billion Trees” initiative for 2021–2025. By the end of 2024, nearly 20.6 million trees had been planted, and the province is projected to exceed 25 million by the end of the program.
Over the past time, the province has made efforts to ensure adequate public green space in residential areas. These green spaces include parks, flower gardens, playgrounds, schools, cultural houses, administrative buildings, and religious or community structures. The planted trees are typically native species with environmental and cultural significance, offering shade and long-term ecological benefits.
Cam My district has emerged as a leading example. It has planted close to 1.1 million trees and actively promotes tree planting along rural roads, supported by both enterprises and local residents.
Meanwhile, Xuan Loc district has greened 97% of its main roads, inter-village routes, and public spaces with shade trees, flowers, and grass. It also ensures proper waste collection systems are in place.
With the goal of creating "livable rural communities," Dong Nai continues to advance its model rural development efforts by harmonizing economic growth with infrastructure modernization and environmental sustainability.
