(ĐN)- Vinh Cuu district has emerged as a leader in sustainable agriculture by promoting organic farming, embracing eco-friendly practices, and applying scientific and technological advancements. The district has designated key agricultural zones focusing on five main crops: rice, vegetables, mango, pomelo, and citrus fruits.

Notably, mango cultivation spans nearly 2,700 hectares, pomelo covers about 1,500 hectares (with green skin pomelo making up 68%), rice fields account for approximately 1,400 hectares, and citrus fruits over 540 hectares. Areas such as Tan Binh and Binh Loi have developed strong agricultural brands, with Tan Binh pomelo obtaining geographical indication certification.

Vinh Cuu has also established traceable planting areas with multiple planting codes for both export and domestic markets, significantly enhancing the value of local produce.

To further improve quality and competitiveness, local farmers have received training on high-quality seed selection and modern cultivation techniques. Infrastructure such as electricity, irrigation, and rural roads has been upgraded to support production.

A highlight is the district’s promotion of production-consumption linkages. A notable example is the cooperation between Phu Ly Mango Cooperative and Binh Minh Agricultural Cooperative. Their mangoes meet VietGAP standards and are traceable via electronic production logs, enabling farmers to sell produce at prices 500 VND/kg higher than the market average.

Such linkages have also facilitated the expansion of concentrated production zones and infrastructure improvements, including internal roads, irrigation systems, and power upgrades to meet production needs.
