During the discussion, Mr. Kwon highlighted that South Korea and Vietnam are working to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership. He noted that Dong Nai stands out among Vietnamese localities for its strong support for foreign investors, especially South Korean enterprises. As a result, many Korean businesses are eager to invest in the province.

He expressed optimism that with the upcoming operation of Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai—with its full range of five modes of transport—will emerge as a logistics and smart industrial hub in southern Vietnam.

Vice Chairman Duong Minh Dung affirmed that Dong Nai is among the leading industrial provinces in Vietnam, with 37 established industrial zones, 32 of which are currently operational.

South Korea is currently the top investor in Dong Nai, with 406 projects and a total registered capital of over USD 7.3 billion. Korean-invested businesses in the province operate stably, contribute significantly to the local budget, and provide employment for more than 171,000 people. Notable projects include Hyosung Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Hyosung Dong Nai (over USD 1.8 billion), Posco VST Co., Ltd. (USD 300 million), and Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (USD 255.38 million across two projects).

With the motto “Government accompanies businesses,” Dong Nai continuously supports and facilitates foreign investment, including from Korean companies.

In addition to economic development, the province actively promotes people-to-people diplomacy. Since 2016, the Vietnam–Korea Friendship Association in Dong Nai has played a vital role in fostering understanding and strengthening ties between the people of both countries.
