Dong Nai currently has five national key energy projects under construction. The province has been actively working with investors and relevant agencies to expedite legal procedures, land clearance, and construction to ensure timely completion.
For the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 thermal power plants, 99.8% of construction work has been completed. Nhon Trach 3 is expected to begin commercial operation in August 2025, and Nhon Trach 4 in November 2025. The province has resolved key land and infrastructure issues at the Ong Keo Industrial Park to support the projects.
The Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project has completed land clearance for over 66 of the required 92 hectares, with the remaining area scheduled for handover by June 15, 2025.
Three power transmission projects designed to release capacity from Nhon Trach 3 and 4 include 220kV Nhon Trach 3 - My Xuan – Cat Lai line, 220kV Nhon Trach 3 – Long Thanh 500kV substation line, and 500kV Nhon Trach 4 – Phu My – Nha Be line.
Land clearance for these is expected to be completed by the end of June 2025.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son commended Dong Nai’s commitment and urged the province to further accelerate land clearance, especially for Nhon Trach 3 and 4 and related transmission projects.
