Dong Nai: 82% of wastewater at industrial parks treated

(ĐN)- According to report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, all 31 operational industrial parks (IPs) in Dong Nai have completed the construction of centralized wastewater treatment plants, with a total designed capacity of over 239,000 cubic meters per day and a total investment exceeding VND2.7 trillion.

In addition, a centralized wastewater treatment system with a designed capacity of nearly 3,000 cubic meters per day at Long Thanh high-tech IP is preparing for trial operation.

The total volume of wastewater at local IPs is approximately 147,000 cubic meters per day. Of this, over 121,000 cubic meters per day (more than 82%) is collected and treated by centralized wastewater treatment plants. Meanwhile, more than 26,000 cubic meters per day, or nearly 18%, is directly discharged by enterprises that are licensed to do so. There are still 12 enterprises not yet connected to centralized treatment systems, discharging an estimated 30 cubic meters per day.

Currently, 28 wastewater treatment plants in these IPs have installed continuous automatic monitoring systems, which are connected to and transmit real-time data to provincial environmental protection authorities.
