More efforts to develop concentrated agricultural production zones.

(ĐN)-Dong Nai is now home to more than 320 concentrated agricultural production zones covering approximately 95,700 hectares. Agricultural products from these zones maintain sufficient quality and yield for export. However, limited linkages between farmers and processing or export enterprises have led to unstable market access for many agricultural products.

Despite exporting to more than 30 countries and territories, the main destination remains China. Therefore, local farmers need to strengthen connections with processing businesses to boost export volumes and product value. With its advantage of having many large concentrated cultivation areas, establishing a value chain from production to processing and export could significantly enhance the value of agricultural products. Stable market access and higher prices would encourage farmers to expand concentrated farming zones with competitive crops and livestock.

With year-round fruit supply and large-scale production of bananas, mangoes, pomelos, durians, and more, Dong Nai has the potential to build value chains and develop processed agricultural goods. Experts suggest the province enhance investment promotion policies to attract capable domestic and foreign enterprises to form sustainable links from production to processing and distribution.

In 2024, Dong Nai's export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products exceeded 2 billion USD, mainly from wood products, pepper, coffee, cashew nuts, durians, and fresh bananas. However, many other fruits and vegetables have yet to reach significant formal export volumes.
