Dong Nai supplies nearly 111,600 tons of bananas to market in Q1

(ĐN)- According to the Dong Nai Statistics Office, local farmers supplied nearly 111,600 tons of bananas to the market in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of some 32,700 tons.

This sharp increase is attributed to consistently high banana prices since 2024, bringing profits of VND 300–400 million per hectare annually. As a result, many farmers have shifted from low-efficiency annual crops to tissue-cultured bananas.

Most of Dong Nai's bananas are exported to China, South Korea and Japan. Among the province’s fruit crops, bananas have the highest output, followed by rambutan, mango, and pomelo. If prices remain high, Dong Nai farmers are expected to supply over 400,000 tons of bananas to both domestic and international markets this year.
