(ĐN)- In 2025, marking the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation, Dong Nai celebrates its remarkable transformation from a war-torn region to one of Vietnam’s leading provinces in new-style rural development and modern, sustainable agriculture.

In 2024, the province's total agricultural, forestry, and fishery production value reached over VND 50.5 trillion, up 3.53% year-on-year, making Dong Nai the top in Southeast Vietnam in production scale and second nationwide in the number of advanced new-style rural communes. To date, Dong Nai has 111 communes meeting advanced rural standards, 33 model rural communes, and 3 districts recognized as advanced rural areas, with 3 more districts preparing for recognition in 2025.
Dong Nai has developed 321 concentrated farming zones covering nearly 95,700 hectares, including 10 high-tech agricultural zones (11,900 ha) and 8 organic farming zones (4,400 ha). High-tech agricultural products account for nearly 46.3% of total agricultural value, estimated at VND 34.7 trillion—about 92.6% of the province's 2025 target. The province also leads the Southeast region in OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, with 282 certified products from 165 producers rated 3 stars or higher.
Rural incomes have seen significant improvement. In some advanced rural communes, per capita annual income reached VND 90–110 million in 2024. Notably, there is no outstanding debt in basic infrastructure projects under the national rural development program.
Xuan Loc district stands out as the first locality nationwide to nearly complete all criteria for a model new-style rural district. It has simultaneously focused on specialized, sustainable production and pioneering model programs—an achievement praised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
Despite being a heavily industrialized province, Dong Nai has shown strong commitment and strategic leadership in rural development. Thanks to creative, determined efforts, it is now a national leader in “tam nong” (agriculture, farmers, rural areas) advancement and rural modernization.
