(ĐN)- On April 19, Dong Nai held a ground-breaking ceremony for the Chua Chan Mountain ecotourism, resort, and entertainment project in Xuan Loc district, the largest tourism project ever undertaken in the province.

Covering 107 hectares with a total estimated investment of some VND18 trillion, the project spans several communes, including Xuan Truong, Xuan Tho, Suoi Cat, Xuan Hiep, and Gia Ray town. It is expected to begin construction in fourth quarter of 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee Vo Tan Duc emphasized that the project is a key initiative in the province’s tourism development strategy, aimed at turning Chua Chan Mountain into one of the most attractive destinations in the Southeast region. The project will feature resort villas, hotels, commercial and entertainment complexes, a cable car system, mountain railway, parks, and synchronized infrastructure.

837 meters above sea level, Chua Chan is the second-highest peak in the Southeast, after Ba Den mountain in Tay Ninh. It was recognized as a national scenic site by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 2012. With its unique natural landscape, mild climate, and spiritual cultural values, Chua Chan mountain has significant potential for becoming a major tourism hub.

The project is expected to welcome around 5 million visitors annually by 2030, including about 100,000 overnight stays. Once operational, it will contribute significantly to the local budget, generate jobs, improve residents’ quality of life, and affirm Dong Nai’s status as a key tourism destination in Vietnam.

Provincial leaders called on departments and local authorities to closely coordinate efforts, expedite legal procedures, and ensure smooth implementation of the project to unlock the full potential of Chua Chan mountain for sustainable economic growth.
