At the meeting, the consulting unit presented the planned route for the metro extension. According to the proposal, the total length of the metro line would be nearly 21 kilometers, featuring 13 stations (including Station S0) and a depot covering over 23 hectares. The route would start after the Suoi Tien Bus Station of Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1 and end at the proposed depot in Ho Nai 3 Commune, Trang Bom District.

The section from Station S0 to the depot in Ho Nai 3 Commune would span nearly 19 kilometers. The consulting unit proposed both elevated and underground options for the section within Dong Nai Province.

Regarding investment costs, the estimated total investment for the section in Dong Nai is around VND 30 trillion. The funding sources include the province’s annual public investment budget, central government support, and loans (ODA loans or local bond issuance).

Vice Chairman Ho Van Ha emphasized that securing investment capital is the key challenge for this project. He assigned the Department of Construction to propose the establishment of a task force to develop an investment plan for the metro extension. This plan should include special policy mechanisms to seek support from central authorities for the fastest, most cost-effective, and efficient project implementation. Additionally, the project must be prioritized for early execution.

Regarding the proposed route, Vice Chairman Ho Van Ha requested that provincial agencies and the consulting unit study the feasibility of an underground section to enhance urban aesthetics.
