Thong Nhat recognized as advanced new rural district

(ĐN) – On March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 573/QD-TTg, officially recognizing Thong Nhat District as an Advanced New Rural District in 2024.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to announce the recognition and reward the locality as per regulations. Thong Nhat District will continue to maintain and enhance the quality of its criteria, focusing on cultural, social, and environmental aspects to ensure sustainability in new rural development.

In 2015, Thong Nhat was recognized as a New Rural District. Achieving the Advanced New Rural District status in the 2021-2025 period, 100% of communes in Thong Nhat have maintained their New Rural Commune status, while 7 out of 9 communes (77.78%) have met and sustained the Advanced New Rural Commune standards under the new criteria. The district’s Dau Giay Town has also been recognized as a civilized urban area. The public satisfaction rate regarding the district’s advanced new rural development results reached 99.64%, surpassing the set criteria.

Additionally, the district has excelled in various aspects of new rural development, including infrastructure investment, economic growth, and improved quality of life. It has maintained public security and order, with 100% of its roads meeting standards for both transportation and commuting. Notably, the district has no outstanding debt from the National Target Program on New Rural Development.
