(ĐN)- Dong Nai is home to many factories that utilize robots and cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technology, producing components for multinational corporations in semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, and shipbuilding industries.
As of December 2024, Dong Nai ranks among the top five provinces in Vietnam for attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), with nearly 1,700 projects and over $35.2 billion in registered capital.
World-Class Modern Factories
Dong Nai hosts factories from major global industrial corporations. Their products are exported to over 180 countries, with some factories leveraging Industry 4.0 and AI to manufacture cutting-edge components.
In 2024, Dong Nai ranked 8th in Vietnam for FDI attraction, securing nearly $1.5 billion. Most FDI projects involve high-tech industries, particularly in semiconductors, including microchips, aircraft engines, automotive powertrains, aerospace valves, and high-precision industrial machinery.
For instance, Electronic Tripod Vietnam in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park specializes in electronic circuit boards for semiconductor manufacturers, primarily supplying the U.S. and Japan. Bosch Vietnam in Long Thanh Industrial Park, with nearly $400 million in investment, is the world’s largest producer of continuously variable transmission (CVT) push belts.
Many companies remain discreet about their advanced technologies, but some reveal that their Dong Nai factories feature world-class innovations.
Automation and Smart Manufacturing
A visit to Dong Nai's high-tech factories reveals extensive use of robots, with employees mainly supervising operations remotely via computers.
SMC Manufacturing Vietnam in Long Duc Industrial Park, part of Japan’s SMC Corporation, produces pneumatic equipment and electronic valves for industrial machinery. With nearly $700 million in investments, it supplies over 70 countries and is among Dong Nai’s largest FDI investors.
Similarly, Action Composites Hightech Industries in Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Park is expanding with a new factory utilizing Industry 4.0 to produce carbon fiber wheels for high-end automotive brands worldwide.
Across industrial parks like Amata, Bien Hoa 2, Giang Dien, and Nhon Trach, companies are integrating AI and automation into production while adopting green initiatives to reduce carbon emissions. Some factories in Dong Nai have already achieved net-zero emissions.
In 2024, Dong Nai became one of Vietnam’s top three provinces for attracting semiconductor investments, with several projects preparing for construction.
