Investment attraction surges $600 million
As of early 2025, Dong Nai has attracted nearly $630 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) and over VND 500 billion in domestic investment into its industrial zones. According to the Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authority, the first month of 2025 saw promising investment inflows, including seven new FDI projects with a total registered capital of $141.7 million and capital increases for 16 existing FDI projects totaling $485.4 million. Additionally, two domestic projects raised their capital by VND 544 billion.
This brought the total FDI investment in Dong Nai’s industrial zones to $627.1 million—1.5 times higher than the same period in 2024. Among them, five newly licensed FDI projects and seven capital-increasing projects each had investments exceeding $10 million, highlighting their importance in the province’s industrial growth.
Newly attracted projects focus on sectors such as mechanical engineering, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics—none of which fall under environmentally harmful or labor-intensive industries. The Industrial Zones Authority has actively streamlined administrative procedures, guiding investors through the registration and evaluation processes to accelerate licensing for new and expanded projects.
For 2025, Dong Nai aims to attract $800 million in FDI and VND 2 trillion in domestic investment, with an additional 35 hectares of industrial land leased to investors. The province is also prioritizing infrastructure development for new industrial zones, particularly the Long Thanh High-Tech Park, and advancing planning to enhance industrial linkages and competitiveness.
Enterprises express confidence in Dong Nai’s investment climate
Swiss brand Nestlé, which has operated in Dong Nai for 30 years, remains committed to expanding its presence in the province. With three factories and a distribution center in Dong Nai, the company has created nearly 2,300 jobs, including 1,500 local positions. Over the past three years, Nestlé has increased investment in its Maggi and Nescafé production lines to serve both domestic and export markets. Currently, it is expanding coffee production at its Tri An factory (Amata Industrial Park) to boost capacity. Nestlé executives emphasize the company’s deep integration into Dong Nai’s economic ecosystem and its strong support from local authorities.
Similarly, local enterprises are also scaling up. Nguyen Huyen Trang, Director of Nhat Tin An Packaging Co., Ltd. (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park), revealed plans to diversify the company’s packaging products and expand market reach by partnering with local businesses. With Dong Nai’s thriving wood industry and other manufacturing sectors requiring packaging solutions, Nhat Tin An sees strong growth potential.
The company is preparing to build a new factory, equal in scale to its current one, equipped with modern machinery to enhance production efficiency. This expansion is a key step in Nhat Tin An’s long-term strategy to become a leading local provider of packaging and industrial support services.
