Currently, EVN, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), and the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) are investing in 12 power generation and transmission projects in Dong Nai. These include the expansion of Tri An Hydropower Plant and four power projects to distribute capacity from the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 power plants. However, project implementation has faced challenges, particularly in land clearance, which threatens progress and the ability to meet electricity demand.
The Vice Chairman emphasized that electricity infrastructure is crucial for economic and social development, especially as Dong Nai is tasked with achieving double-digit growth in 2025. To ensure sufficient power supply, investors must accelerate project execution according to plan.
Local authorities have been instructed to finalize the 2025 land-use plan to facilitate the implementation of power projects and support compensation and land clearance efforts. Specifically, the People's Committee of Vinh Cuu District must collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues related to leased land and resettlement for the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion, ensuring construction is completed before the rainy season. For the four power projects in Nhon Trach and Long Thanh, compensation plans must be finalized by April at the latest. Other projects have also been assigned specific tasks and deadlines.
