(DN)- According to the Dong Nai Statistics Office, the province's total import turnover in January exceeded $1.2 billion, marking a 21.5% decrease compared to the previous month and a 2.34% decline year-on-year.
The decline in import value was attributed to businesses having already stockpiled raw materials in Q4 2024 to meet production demands for year-end orders. As a result, the need for additional imports in January 2025 significantly dropped. Additionally, the Lunar New Year holiday coincided with January, prompting many businesses to temporarily halt imports to avoid high transportation costs during the festive season.
China remained Đồng Nai’s largest import market, accounting for $423 million in imports, followed by South Korea with $158 million, Japan with $71.8 million, and the United States with an estimated $65 million.
