Dong Nai: livestock sector maintains high proportion

14:25, 07/02/2025

(DN)- In 2024, Dong Nai’s livestock sector achieved a production value of nearly VND 27.7 trillion, marking a 2.65% increase compared to 2023. The sector remains the dominant contributor to the province’s agricultural, forestry, and fishery GRDP, accounting for 60.4%.

Currently, the province has approximately 2.1 million pigs, a slight decrease of 0.2%, and nearly 21 million chickens, down 1.9% from the previous year. In line with the province’s policy to relocate livestock farms out of restricted areas and promote sustainable development, Đồng Nai plans to gradually reduce its pig and poultry populations.

The province is shifting towards large-scale, high-tech livestock farming to increase value, with a focus on deep processing and high-value animal products. Đồng Nai's livestock sector is continuing its transformation towards industrialization, modernization, and biosecurity-based farming to ensure sustainable growth.
