Efforts to strengthen connections
Astek Co., Ltd., a startup in mechanical manufacturing, automation, and machinery production in Biên Hòa City, is actively seeking collaboration. According to company director Le Xuan Thoi, Astek aims to invest in automation technology to develop modern production lines and machinery, requiring substantial capital. Given its recent establishment, the company seeks partnerships to secure funding and expand its production capacity.
Collaboration with experienced businesses in the same industry not only enhances production capabilities but also allows companies to supply materials to one another, as many products serve as essential inputs for different enterprises.
At a broader level, Dong Nai is focusing on developing new industrial parks (IPs) with an emphasis on industry clustering to create competitive advantages. This strategic approach offers local businesses a favorable environment to expand connections and foster cooperation.
Phan Van Tu, Director of Kim Vinh Thang Co., Ltd., emphasized that collaboration in production and business is crucial, as it allows enterprises to leverage each other’s strengths. Many domestic SMEs aim to join supply chains alongside large Vietnamese and international manufacturers. However, stringent quality standards pose challenges for smaller firms seeking entry into these networks.
In recent years, the number of enterprises in Vietnam’s supporting industries has grown rapidly, yet it still falls short of market demand. Key sectors such as mold making, casting, plastic injection, welding, and heat treatment remain underdeveloped, preventing the formation of a complete domestic supply chain. As a result, businesses struggle to fulfill complex, multi-stage manufacturing orders. Beyond their own efforts, the business community requires support from authorities to enhance competitiveness.
Collaboration in industrial production
The wood processing industry, a major sector in Dong Nai, has seen significant collaboration in production and distribution. The Dong Nai Wood and Handicraft Association (DOWA) currently has hundreds of members spanning various related industries. This interconnected network helps enterprises complement each other’s capabilities, forming an efficient production ecosystem.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, Chief of DOWA’s Office, stated that the association is working on initiatives to strengthen the local wood industry. Efforts include expanding membership, fostering supply chain connectivity, and creating a comprehensive production ecosystem—from raw material supply and processing to commercial distribution and industrial support services. These initiatives aim to boost production capacity, increase domestic and export sales, and equip businesses with the resilience to navigate global market fluctuations and trade barriers.
Similarly, the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association has long encouraged its members to collaborate in product distribution and supply chains. In this model, one company’s output serves as raw materials for another’s production. The association has also established specialized subgroups in construction, supporting industries, and logistics to foster partnerships within specific sectors.
According to Le Bach Long, Chairman of the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association and Director of Nam Long Co., Ltd., several members have joined forces to create stronger manufacturing and business entities, particularly in sectors with high local demand, such as construction, transportation, and supporting industries. In addition to promoting individual business growth, the association actively organizes training programs, facilitates cooperation agreements, and connects members with domestic and international enterprises. These initiatives help businesses optimize their operational potential and strengthen their market positions.
