As of the end of 2024, the country has 278 out of 304 operating industrial parks (IPs) with centralized wastewater treatment plants in accordance with environmental protection technical standards, achieving a rate of 91%. In Dong Nai alone, this rate is 100%.
This is the result of many years of the province working with infrastructure investors to implement policies for economic development linked with environmental protection.
According to the Dong Nai IP Management Board, the province currently has 32 operating industrial parks. Among them, 31 IPs have centralized wastewater treatment plants (the Bien Hoa 1 IP transfers its wastewater to the treatment plant of Bien Hoa 2 IP).
Thus, 100% of the IPs have systems for collecting and treating wastewater in accordance with standards. This has significantly contributed to the province's environmental protection efforts and ensures that investors can operate with peace of mind.
In addition to investing in treatment plants and increasing capacity according to the progress of attracting secondary projects, the IPs have implemented regulations for installing automatic wastewater monitoring systems and connecting data to regulatory authorities for the purposes of monitoring and supervision as stipulated by the 2020 Environmental Protection Law.
