(ĐN)- In 2024, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry, and fisheries exports reached a record $62.5 billion, up nearly 19% from 2023 and surpassing the $55 billion target. Seven key products exceeded $3 billion in exports, including wood products, fruits, rice, coffee, cashews, shrimp, and rubber.

Agricultural trade surplus accounted for 72% of Vietnam’s total trade surplus, highlighting its crucial role in economic stability and global food security. Dong Nai significantly contributed, with exports reaching nearly $3.3 billion in the first 11 months of 2024, a 17% increase from the previous year. The province is strengthening its agricultural production to meet export standards, especially for key fruit-growing areas.

Vietnam benefits from 20 free trade agreements, with 17 already in effect. If fully implemented, these agreements could open access to a market of six billion consumers, boosting agricultural exports further.

Dong Nai recorded impressive export growth, with coffee exports rising 51.3% to $837 million, cashews up 45% to $456 million, and rubber increasing 43% to nearly $69.1 million. Wood products led with $1.26 billion in exports, up 14.3%.

Vietnam’s fruit exports reached $7.2 billion in 2024, a 27% increase. The country now ranks second in fruit exports to China, with strong growth in the U.S. (30%) and Thailand (80%). Key export fruits include mango, banana, and durian.

Dong Nai’s fruit exports reached $573.2 million in 2024, a modest 12% increase. However, the province has vast potential, leading Vietnam in banana cultivation (16,900 hectares, 270,000 tons/year) and ranking high in grapefruit and durian production.

Vietnam currently has over 8,052 certified planting areas and 1,596 packaging facilities for exports. Dong Nai ranks among the top provinces with 189 certified planting areas and 93 export packaging facilities, supplying demanding markets like the U.S., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
