In 2024, over 157,200 new enterprises were registered nationwide. Among these, Vietnam’s two largest cities accounted for the highest number of newly established businesses.
According to the General Statistics Office, the total number of newly registered enterprises in 2024 was over 157,200, with a combined registered capital of more than 1.54 quadrillion VND (approximately 64.9 billion USD) and over 1 million registered workers.
Compared to the previous year, this represents decreases of 1.4% in the number of enterprises, 1.8% in registered capital, and 5.4% in registered workers.
The total additional capital registered by enterprises into the economy in 2024 exceeded 2 quadrillion VND, a 3.6% increase compared to 2023.
Additionally, nearly 76,200 businesses resumed operations in 2024, marking a 30.4% increase from 2023. This brings the total number of newly established and reactivated businesses to over 233,400, a 7.1% rise year-over-year. On average, close to 19,500 businesses were either newly established or resumed operations each month.
