Post-"model new rural" phase, Dong Nai is ramping up digital transformation (DX) efforts to boost rural economic growth, develop smart countryside models, and enhance quality of life. Several pilot “smart hamlet” models have been successfully launched, including in remote areas, laying a foundation for broader application.

Initially piloted in Binh Loi (Vinh Cuu), Long Phuoc (Long Thanh), and Xuan Dinh (Xuan Loc), the DX program focuses on building digital governance, promoting e-administration, smart surveillance, and expanding access to online public services. Citizens are encouraged to adopt cashless payments and digital tools through active community engagement, especially from local youth tech teams.
Notably, Binh Loi commune has implemented smart education systems and promoted local OCOP (One Commune One Product) items on e-commerce platforms. Meanwhile, remote communes like Xuan Hoa and Xuan Thanh have reached key digital benchmarks, with nearly 90% of working-age residents using smartphones, and over 98% of administrative procedures resolved on time via e-portals.
Across the province, DX initiatives are helping digitize public services, increase transparency, and foster a culture of tech adoption even in traditional farming communities—paving the way for smart rural transformation by 2030.
