(ĐN)- At the conference held on December 18, Chairman Vo Tan Duc of the provincial People’s Committee emphasized the need for acceleration and breakthrough efforts to meet the socio-economic development goals of the 2020–2025 term. The province will also restructure its administrative apparatus toward greater efficiency, while preparing for the upcoming Party Congresses at all levels.
Dong Nai has outlined 25 key socio-economic, environmental, and national security targets for 2025. These include a 10% GRDP growth, over VND 60 trillion in state budget revenue, and a public investment disbursement rate above 95%. The province will prioritize economic growth, modern infrastructure—especially major transport projects—digital transformation, and green development.
To achieve these ambitious goals, departments and districts are expected to act decisively from the start of the year. The province will also streamline its administrative apparatus and promote merit-based staffing, eliminating officials reluctant to take responsibility.
Nguyen Huu Nguyen, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, outlined key implementation measures, focusing on synchronized infrastructure, regional connectivity, and restructuring key industries. Efforts will be closely linked with digitalization and green transition, while maintaining social welfare, education quality, and innovation-driven growth.
Finance Director Truong Thi Huong Binh added that early budget allocation and targeted tax collection—especially in areas like land, minerals, expired tax incentive projects, and e-commerce—will be critical to ensuring fiscal sustainability. Technology will play a key role in tax administration reform.
Chairman Vo Tan Duc reaffirmed that the province’s higher growth target requires strong commitment, given that major economic drivers like Long Thanh International Airport are still under development. Therefore, public investment must be disbursed efficiently, underperforming projects must be revoked, and mechanisms for selective foreign direct investment—particularly in high-tech sectors like semiconductors—must be established.
Finally, the province will fast-track the planning process, invest in new industrial zones, develop high-quality human resources, and aggressively push administrative reform and digital transformation to lay the groundwork for long-term sustainable development.
