By mid-October 2024, Long Khanh city had achieved nearly half of its annual socio-economic targets, with positive growth in the economy alongside active efforts in political, cultural, and social welfare tasks.
Over the past nine months, Long Khanh’s industrial output reached over VND16.6 trillion, or 75.8% of the yearly plan, marking an 18.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The industrial sector continues to recover strongly, supported by new production contracts and improved export markets since April, which also boosted labor demand.

Industrial parks such as Long Khanh and Suoi Tre attracted 75 land lease contracts from 63 investors, covering 270.5 hectares and providing jobs for approximately 23,400 local and regional workers. Meanwhile, trade, services, and agriculture also showed positive growth.
A highlight is the local budget collection, which hit VND421.7 billion in nine months, surpassing the provincial target by 6.9% and the city council’s by 1.6%, increasing 30.5% year-on-year.
However, public investment disbursement remains a challenge. The city aims to reach 95% by year-end but expects only about 50.2% by October. To accelerate progress, Long Khanh is mobilizing resources, improving land clearance procedures, and tightening project supervision. The city also seeks guidance on land compensation and resettlement under the new 2024 Land Law to avoid delays.
Secretary of Long Khanh Party Committee Dang Minh Nguyet affirmed the city’s commitment, noting that 23 out of 49 targets have been met or exceeded, while the remainder is being fast-tracked for completion by year-end. Preparations are underway to reorganize three wards—Xuan Trung, Xuan Thanh, and Xuan An—following the National Assembly’s resolution.
Regarding infrastructure, Long Khanh prioritizes urban planning and investment as key growth drivers. It has actively coordinated with provincial agencies to update its master plan through 2030 with a vision toward 2050. Several infrastructure projects, including underground power and telecom lines on Cach Mang Thang Tam street, Hùng Vuong and Nguyen Trai roads, have been completed. The city plans to start constructing a 4.4 km Ring Road 1 in Q4 2024, with over VND900 billion in investment, expected to transform the urban landscape.
Moreover, Long Khanh is surveying businesses and cooperatives outside industrial zones to develop a relocation plan into concentrated industrial areas, while intensifying market support and industrial promotion programs. Local manufacturers, like coffee producer Le Thanh Cong, express hope for stronger trade promotion and market access assistance.
Recently, Long Khanh held a ceremony to recognize several local products meeting OCOP standards, aiming to boost branding and market reach. Vice Chairman Bui Quoc The emphasized the importance of continued support and training to help producers expand their footprint.
In summary, Long Khanh is actively accelerating efforts across multiple fronts to fulfill its socio-economic agenda by year-end, laying a foundation for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
