The Dong Nai People's Committee has allocated nearly 100 hectares of land for the Long Thanh Airport Project, raising the total land area for phase one to 2,500 hectares.

This is the final land allocation for the first phase of the project. Around 1,810 hectares will be used for infrastructure construction, and 722 hectares will be for reserves.

Located in Binh Son Commune, Long Thanh District, the Long Thanh Airport Project will cover 5,000 hectares and has an estimated investment of about USD 13.28 billion. Once completed, it is designed to serve 100 million passengers and five million tonnes of cargo annually and is expected to replace HCM City's Tan Son Nhat as Vietnam's biggest airport.

The first phase of the airport project will be completed next year and will enter operation in 2026. It will have one runway, a terminal, and several ancillary facilities. Once the first phase is completed, the airport will serve 25 million passengers and 1.2 tonnes of cargo per year.
