Fostering a high-tech agricultural environment in Dong Nai

Dong Nai province is making strides in developing high-tech and organic agriculture, aligning with its strategic breakthrough goals for the 2020–2025 period. By investing in modern infrastructure and supportive policies, the province is creating favorable conditions to attract investment and enhance sustainable agricultural production.

So far, Dong Nai has established eight high-tech agricultural zones covering nearly 1,600 hectares, and 15 organic production zones totaling over 1,500 hectares. Infrastructure in these areas has been significantly upgraded, including 100% paved in-field roads, improved irrigation systems, and expanded rural electricity networks. Between 2021 and 2024, nine irrigation projects were completed, boosting water supply and supporting 750 additional hectares of farmland.

Financially, agricultural credit has surged to nearly VND 113.7 trillion by the end of 2023, with over VND 14.4 trillion in unsecured loans, reflecting strong institutional support for farmers and agribusinesses.

Although Dong Nai lacks a dedicated policy for high-tech agriculture, the province has effectively implemented national and local support mechanisms. These include subsidies for GAP/organic certifications, advanced irrigation systems, technology transfer, and product traceability. Businesses certified as high-tech agricultural enterprises enjoy land incentives, tax exemptions, and R&D support.

From 2021 to 2023, Dong Nai approved 22 agricultural linkage projects involving 16 enterprises, 20 cooperatives, and over 900 farmers, with more than VND 63.8 billion in funding. The province also supported GAP adoption across 800 hectares and helped 95 producers register agricultural trademarks, boosting product value and market access.

With continued focus on infrastructure, financing, and policy alignment, Dong Nai is steadily building a robust ecosystem for high-tech and organic agriculture.
