(ĐN)- Due to the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dong Nai’s cashew exports in the first five months of the year decreased by 17.8 percent in value to some US$103 million, according to the Department of Industry and Trade.
In May alone, the province earned US$23 million from exporting cashew nuts.
The decline was attributed to the reduction in import of the province’s major markets such as China, Italy and Russia.
In addition, a suspected cashew nut scam involving the loss of the bills of lading of containers exported to Europe from mid-March also affected the total volume and value.
