During an inspection tour on April 27, he underlined the importance of the project to enhancing transport links in the Southern region and the whole country, noting that the relevant units must accelerate the progress of construction packages.
According to the project management unit, the majority of packages are on schedule, except for package 1, which has only met 40 percent of the expected progress due to shortages of stone.
Contractors have signed a pledge with the project owner to mobilise additional equipment and workers to expedite the construction of the expressway.
The project owner also asked the Binh Thuan authorities to quickly clear electricity pylons and telecommunication poles within May while requesting the Dong Nai authorities to relocate the remaining technical infrastructure in the same month.
The Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway will have a total length of 99 kilometres, connecting the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Dong Nai. Its construction began in September 2020 and has been split into four construction packages.
