Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has ordered the Transport Ministry to start 12 component projects of the transnational expressway as early as next year as Vietnam aims to have 3,000km of expressways by 2025. Vietnam now has 1,200km of expressways.

At a meeting of the Ministry on Saturday, Mr. Thanh also requested the completion of phase 1 of Long Thanh International Airport in the southern province of Dong Nai by 2025 with a designed capacity of 100 million passengers.
Other key transport projects to begin in 2022 include the expansion of Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport and construction of Dien Bien and Sa Pa airports.
Deputy PM Thanh asked the Ministry to consider building new railroads linking Vietnam with Laos and Cambodia and soon submit the high speed North-South railway project to the Government.
