The 34km Tan Van-Nhon Trach section of Ring Road No. 3 project has two components, with the first consisting of two segments: the 8.7-kilometer 1A segment from provincial road 25B in Nhon Trach District of Dong Nai Province to the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway in HCMC. The 1A component project will run through Dong Nai province with a length of 6.3km and the rest will run through HCM city, and the nine-kilometer 1B segment from the expressway to Tan Van intersection in Dong Nai. The total investment in the component is estimated at some VND9.3 trillion.
In the first phase, the project is built in 20-26m width, including six lanes with designed speed of 80 kph. When completed, it will help reduce the length from Nhon Trach district to HCM city and Binh Duong province, creating advantage ffor transporting goods and passengers as well as reduce traffic flow to downtown area of HCM city.
Ring Road No. 3 is a key national project which helps boost the regional connection and the socioeconomic development in HCMC and the southern key economic zone as a whole and ease traffic in the downtown area of HCMC and connect with Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Long An, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces.
