The United States is reportedly the main importer of local footwear, accounting for 39% of the country’s total, equivalent to over US$1 billion, increasing 37% against the year-ago period. It was followed by China, US$439 million, Belgium, US$330 million, Germany, US$105 million and the UK, US$105 million.
In July alone, the province’s footwear sector earned US$402 million in export turnover, a month-on-month decrease of 6.9 percent, due to the impacts of the COVID-19.
