This is the second hike in two consecutive monthsin 2021, with a total hike of VND44,500 per 12-kilogram cylinder.
The retail price of a 12kg cooking gas cylinder now ranges between VND405,000 and VND428,000.The price hike was attributed to a rise in the global gas price, which is $620 per tonne now, a surge of $92.5 per tonne from the previous month.
Currently, 60 percent of the total gas consumption in the country has to be imported, making local gas prices be adjusted following global gas prices.
