The provincial government on December 29 broke ground on the first phase of the project in An Hoa Ward and Long Hung Commune of Bien Hoa City. The road will run along the Dong Nai River, the local media reported.
The first section of the projected road will be two kilometers long, starting at National Highway 51 and ending at the Long Hung urban area. Some construction components of the project comprise building a road surface, a concrete bridge, pavements, trees and lighting and drainage systems.
The first phase of the project is set to be completed within 17 months, with a total cost of VND230 billion.
In the first phase, the road will have four lanes for autos and two lanes for other vehicles, while in the second phase, apart from building the remaining eight-kilometer section, the road will be expanded to six lanes for autos and four lanes for other vehicles, with a total width of 30 meters.
The Dong Nai project management board said that Huong Lo 2 Road is one of the province’s key projects, with funding from tenders of land use, funds for support of arrangement of enterprises and the province’s budget.
The road, once in place, is expected to ease traffic congestion on National Highway 51, shorten the time and distance between Dong Nai Province and HCMC and contribute to the development of the province.
