The event was attended by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong, Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung, and representatives of ministries and agencies.
According to Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong, the VND12.6-trillion Phan Thiet-Dau Giay section is designed to travel through provinces of Binh Thuan and Dong Nai with its total length of 99 kilometers, including 47.5 kilometers through Binh Thuan province and 51.5 kilometers through Dong Nai province.
The 99-kilometer-long road will have a maximum speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour and four lanes in the first phase, before being upgraded to six lanes.
The North-South Expressway, once completed, is expected to address such issues facing National Highway No. 1. The expressway has a maximum speed limit of 80-120 kilometers per hour and is off-limits to motorcycles.
