For components of the eastern sections of the North-South Expressway, 91.1% of the sites have been cleared. The prime minister urged the ministry to quickly finish site clearance in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa and Dong Nai in the third quarter of this year.
Resettlement areas have seen a 44% completion rate, while the relocation of technical infrastructure has only seen a 9% completion rate and could not be finished in the third quarter. Phuc asked Vietnam Electricity, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group and Viettel Telecom to finish the relocation of technical infrastructure in the third quarter to ensure the progress of the projects.
For the Long Thanh International Airport project in Dong Nai Province, Phuc asked the province to complete site clearance for the first phase, which covers 1,810 hectares, in 2020 and for the second phase, which covers 3,190 hectares, in the second quarter of 2021.
For the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway project, there are still 46 households that have not agreed with the compensation rate. The prime minister asked HCMC and Dong Nai Province to resolve the problems and finish site clearance in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Ministry of Transport, the Committee for Management of State Capital and Vietnam Expressway Corporation should work together to pay compensation to the affected households.
Phuc also asked the Transport Ministry to finish site clearance for the Ho Chi Minh Road’s La Son-Tuy Loan section in the fourth quarter of this year and kick start the My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway project in December.
In the first half of 2020, the Transport Ministry’s public capital disbursement rate reached 33.7%, a little higher than the country’s average of 30.2%.
The prime minister stressed that site clearance plays an important role in speeding up public capital disbursement and ensuring the progress of the projects. Therefore, the ministry must work closely with other agencies and local governments to accelerate site clearance and help transport projects meet the planned schedule.
