(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s export turnover of wood and wooden products reached nearly US$224 million in the first two months of the year, a year-on-year rise of around 18 percent.
Over the past two months, the province’s wood processing sector has been less affected by COVID-19 outbreak, thanks to its materials mainly imported from Canada and Russia and from domestic market.
The Wuhan coronavirus significantly affected local economic growth, with the tourism, aviation and trade sectors facing the heaviest losses.
However, the wood industry is seeing short-term benefits due to a shift of orders from China to Vietnam.
