Pepper export volume drops in Jan

(ĐN) - Dong Nai shipped abroad some 755 tonnes of pepper for US$1.9 million in January, down 1 percent in volume and 17 percent in value year-on-year, the Department of Industry and Trade reported.

 

(ĐN) - Dong Nai shipped abroad some 755 tonnes of pepper for US$1.9 million in January, down 1 percent in volume and 17 percent in value year-on-year, the Department of Industry and Trade reported.

The US, India, Thailand, Pakistan and Japan remained the province’s major pepper importers, with their revenues standing at US$724,000, US$238,000, US$174,000, US$130,000 and US$108,000, respectively, the department said.

In the period, the province’s pepper was sold at the price of about US$2,536 per tonne, down 10 percent as compared with the previous month.
