(ĐN) - Dong Nai exported 25,900 tonnes of coffee worth US$44.3 million in January, an increase of nearly 200 percent in volume compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial Department of Statistics.

In the period, the average export price of Vietnam’s coffee was estimated at US$1,700 USD per tonne.

Coffee is among several exports from the province that saw sharp rises in volume over the past years.

The current domestic buying price for coffee is VND31,000-32,000 per kilo. The cause for the low price is said to be a sharp increase in quantity in recent years.
