(ĐN) – According to Thong Nhat district’s Office of Agriculture and Rural Development, African swine fever (ASF) has spread across the district, forcing the cull of some 95,500 pigs.
The pigs that have died were owned by 774 families. Accordingly, the province has assisted 533 households affected by African swine fever (ASF) with total of more than VND82.3 billion.
Thong Nhat is now home to nearly 157,000 pigs, 38.1 percent lower than the figure one year ago.
The district will efforts to call on farmers to not increase pig numbers at this time due to high disease risk.
