At the reception, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hoa Hiep stressed that RoK is now leading the countries and territories investing in Dong Nai with 395 projects with a total registered capital of some US$6.3 billion. RoK firms mainly invest in the fields of textiles, footwear, textile fibers, machinery, iron and steel products, electronics, etc.

Dong Nai is an industrial province with surging demand for power. The province is estimated to consume about 14 billion kW in 2019. Therefore, it’s necessary to develop smart electricity grid, renewable energy and new energy sources, she added.

For his part, Deputy Governor Yoon Byung Tae affirmed that Jeollanam is the RoK’s largest locality for researching and applying renewable energy. Accordingly, the province will help Dong Nai to deploy suitable energy projects and will be a bridge for RoK businesses to invest in Dong Nai in the field of energy.

On this occasion, the Korea Electric Power Research Institute also signed a contract with Taekwang Vina Industrial J.S Company in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park to implement the micro-grid project that will help the company reduce consumption electricity.
