(ĐN) - US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Mary Tarnowka has recently paid a working visit to Dong Nai. Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong and Chairman of People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai warmly welcomed the delegation.
In Dong Nai, the US is implementing a project on dioxin remediation in the Bien Hoa airport.
Speaking at the working session, Ms Mary Tarnowka said that the US side is also interested in the project and will collaborate with Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular in addressing war consequences while continuing to foster bilateral economic, cultural and security relations.
Currently, many US enterprises are eyeing investment in Dong Nai in the fields of industry, aviation and infrastructure, she added.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai stated that the US ranked tenth among countries and territories investing in the province, with 27 projects worth over US$207 million.
Dong Nai is now calling for investment in hi-tech projects and hoped that the US Consul General would serve as a bridge for US investors in the province, he added.
