(ĐN)- Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) has recently organized a meeting to review its activities this year and discuss plans for next year.

Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai of Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh of the provincial People’s Committee attended the event.

Statistics released by the DoIT showed that the province’s industrial production value in 2018 is estimated to increase around 8.7 percent against the previous year. Its export turnover gained US$18.6 billion, a year-on-year surge of 11.7 percent.

Dong Nai has been running a lot of price stabilization programs to stabilize the prices of essential goods such as food and foodstuff.

The province set targets of raising its industrial production value by 8.5-9 percent and reaching export revenue of US$20.5 billion in 2019.

To fulfill these objectives, the Department will put forth projects, programmes, plans and tasks while organizing more conferences connecting local businesses and their partners, improving the competitive edge of local enterprises, said Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai

The province will continue prioritising high-tech and support industries, especially major projects. Trade promotion activities will target markets with which Vietnam has signed free trade agreements and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, Hai said.
